REGULAR BOARD MEETING
TUESDAY, APRIL 12, 2011
Held at the Alden Town Hall, Star Prairie, WI
7:00 p.m.

Chairman Brad Johnson called the regular monthly board meeting to order at 7:20 P.M.

Pledge of Allegiance

PRESENT: Brad Johnson – Chairman, Keith Karpenski, John Bonneprise, Gary Dado and Helen Johnson Town Board Supervisors, Judy Demulling – Town Clerk and Margo Dahl - Treasurer.

AGENDA: Motion was made by Supervisor Johnson, second by Chairman Johnson to approve adoption of the proposed agenda. Motion carried.

APPROVE BILLS: The monthly bills were presented to the Town Board. Motion was made by Supervisor Dado, second by Supervisor Johnson to approve payment of the bills listed. Motion carried.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Treasurer’s report was presented to the Town Board. Motion was made by Supervisor Johnson, second by Supervisor Karpenski to approve the treasurer’s report as presented. Motion carried.

MINUTES: Motion was made by Supervisor Karpenski, second by Supervisor Bonneprise to approve the minutes of the March 10, 2011 Regular Town Board Meeting and March 31, 2011 Board of Supervisor’s Meeting. Motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENT - NONE

OLD BUSINESS

a.  Tree Issues in Wagon Landing Cemetery – No action necessary.

b.  Camera on Church Pine Lake – Helen Johnson reported that they are waiting to get locations from Dan Fedderly to get done.

c.  Discuss Managing Clean Up Day – Volunteers for the clean up day set for April 30, 2011 are Brad Johnson, Keith Karpenski, Gary Dado, Craig Thomas and Dennis Whitcomb.

NEW BUSINESS

a.  New Lake Signs on Church – Helen Johnson reported that Church Pine and Big Lake would like to put up new signs at the landings. No action taken will be put on next month’s agenda.

STATUTORY PLAN COMMISSION – RECOMMENDATIONS

a.  Appoint Plan Commission Members – 3-year term – Motion was made by Supervisor Johnson, second by Supervisor Bonneprise to accept appointed members Judy Weiss and Larry Behne. Motion carried.

b.  Review of Nuisance and Parking Ordinance – Board members will further check into court systems, procedures and their costs. Chairman Johnson will set up a tutorial meeting with Lois Hoff at her convenience.

ROAD WORK ISSUES

a.  Confirm Chip Seal Roads – Motion was made by Supervisor Karpenski, second by Supervisor Bonneprise to chip and fog seal all of Church road and to chip seal only 190th Street. Motion carried. This will be an agenda item also for next month.

b.  Discuss Radio Upgrade Requirement – Discussion only, no formal action was taken.

c.  Set Material Prices From the Alden Gravel Pit – Motion by Chairman Johnson, second by Supervisor Dado to set the prices of gravel pit materials:  

¾ inch dense gravel $5.20 per ton and an additional $0.50 per ton loading charge

1 ¼ inch dense gravel $5.20 per ton and an additional $0.50 per ton loading charge

Pit run material $3.30 per ton and an additional $0.50 per ton loading charge.

Motion carried.

d.  Authorize Advertising Bidding of Reconstruction of 138th Street and 50th Avenue – Motion was made by Supervisor Dado, second by Supervisor Bonneprise to authorize advertising bidding of reconstructions of 138th Street and 50th Avenue. Motion carried.

AGENDA ITEMS FOR NEXT MONTH – Camera and New Lake Signs on Church Pine Lake, Animal Warden, Follow–up of Nuisance and Parking Ordinance.

ADJOURNMENT: Motion was made by Supervisor Johnson, second by Supervisor Bonneprise to adjourn. Motion carried. 9:30 p.m.
