PRESENT:
Brad Johnson – Chairman, Keith Karpenski, John Bonneprise, Gary Dado
and Helen Johnson Town Board Supervisors, Judy Demulling – Town Clerk and
Margo Dahl - Treasurer.
AGENDA:
Motion was made by Supervisor Bonneprise, second by Supervisor
Johnson to approve adoption of the proposed agenda.
Motion carried.
APPROVE BILLS: The
monthly bills were presented to the Town Board.
Motion was made by Supervisor Dado, second by Supervisor
Karpenski to approve payment of the bills listed.
Motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Treasurer’s report was presented to the Town Board.
Motion was made by Chairman Johnson, second by Supervisor Dado to
approve the treasurer’s report as presented.
Motion carried.
MINUTES:
Motion was made by Supervisor Karpenski, second by Supervisor
Bonneprise to approve the minutes of the April 12, 2011 Regular Town Board
Meeting. Motion carried.
PUBLIC
COMMENT
a.
Resident Rick Anderson informed the board that
there were a lot of tires lying in the ditch near 50th and 213th
Street.
b.
Noted
that Scott Ward, Engineer from Stevens Engineering out of Hudson attended the
board meeting.
a.
Camera
and New Lake Signs on Church Pine Lake – Jerry Schlagel, Big Lake, Round and
Pine Lake Association board member requested allowing the Lake District to
place a camera to photograph invasive species that may be on boats entering
the lake chain. He also said
there are plans for a new sign to replace the current sign.
There was some discussion of allowing a light at the site.
The town will get the lake board a detailed map of the boat landing and
the Lake District board will clearly indicate where they want to place these
items. The issue will be put on
next month’s agenda.
b.
Clean
Up Day Recap – It was a rainy cold day, around 48 residents showed for the
day. After discussion Chairman
Johnson made a motion to discontinue the spring clean up
day, second by Supervisor Johnson.
Roll call vote: Supervisor
Johnson – yes, Supervisor Dado – yes, Supervisor Karpenski – yes,
Supervisor Bonneprise – yes, Chairman Johnson – yes. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
a.
Animal
Warden – Voice Motion by
Supervisor Johnson, second by Supervisor Karpenski to do a joint advertisement
with the Town of Osceola for an Animal Warden. Motion carried.
b.
Salvation
Army Spokesperson – Shirley Schoenberger, Shelter Manager/Fundraising
Coordinator the Serenity Home/Salvation Army gave a presentation about the
Serenity Home in Balsam Lake. She
also thanked the board for having a charitable fund.
c.
Edge
Voting Machine/Printer Copiers Issues – Voice
Motion by Supervisor Johnson, second by Chairman Johnson to purchase a
reconditioned Edge Machine from Command Central for $2,250.00 to be delivered
Fall, 2011.
Motion carried
Voice Motion by Supervisor Dado,
second by Chairman Johnson to purchase a HP Color LaserJet CM2320
Multi-Function Printer from Connecting Point, Amery, in the amount to $579.00.
Motion carried.

Mowing
Contracts – Al Dahl, for the Wagon Landing Cemetery, Tony Waalen, for the
Town Hall/Garage and Roger Lehman, for the Cedar Lake Boat Landing/Park.

PLAN COMMISSION – RECOMMENDATIONS
a.
Follow Up of Nuisance and Parking Ordinance –
Citation Ordinance – Next month’s agenda.
b.
Possible Action on Apple River Riders ATV Club –
The ATV Club presented two (2) routes in the Town.
Voice Motion by Supervisor
Karpenski, second by Supervisor Dado to support continuing efforts of the
Apple River Riders ATV Club to establish an ATV connecting route.
Motion carried.

WORK ISSUES
a.
Confirm
Chip Seal Roads – The roads identified last month will remain unchanged.
AGENDA ITEMS FOR NEXT MONTH – Camera and New Lake Signs on Big Lake, Round
and Pine Lake, Nuisance and Parking Ordinance.

Bonneprise, second by Supervisor Dado to adjourn. Motion
